Tim Beeman driving forJ.D. ZINK Jr Fuel “A” Car number 700T

Tim is driving for J.D. because J.D broke his leg in July hoping to fully recover by the 2018 March Meet. Tim is a multi NE-3 Champ.
J.D. started his racing career in 1960 with 92” wheel base Hemi powered B/G dragster. By 1961 the dragster had been converted to “A” Comp coup with a blown gas Hemi that went the best of 160mph.
In 1962 J.D. got the opportunity to drive the famous “Canopy Car” built by Romeo Palamides that won the most beautiful dragster title at the Oakland Roadster show. The award was for the car owner who purchased it from Palamides.
In 1963 J.D. started driving a Top Fuel dragster which competed all over Northern Calif and reached speeds in the 180’s.
In 1964 J.D was hired by Romeo Palamides to drive a series of his then famous “Untouchables” Jet Dragsters, which reached a top speed of 300mph at 5.01 ET.
J.D. left Palamides to return to college to finish his education in 1967 and from then until 1969 he drove the “Scorpion” Jet Dragster built by Palamides and purchased by Northern Calif’s Jack Birdwell.
In 1970 J.D. went back to his roots in a Chevy powered Top Fuel dragster with a Tuttle chassis, but then took a leave of absence to complete law school, start a family and build a successful law practice in Chico California.
In 2001, realizing that the leave of absence from racing had been longer than anticipated, J.D. attended several Nostalgia drag races where he became intrigued with the JrFuel class that promised a high level of performance along with an economical entry into the class.
After about a two year learning curve in which he found that being successful in the class was not as economical as he hoped, he engaged the services of professional race engine builder Rick Watters and after that began to enjoy considerable success in both JrFuel and in NHRA Comp eliminator as well.
By 2004 J.D. was winning races in JrFuel and NHRA Comp racing A/ND. He now runs in JrFuel “A” in NHRA Heritage and Comp Eliminator A/ND and also has a “B” engine to run JrFuel “B” or B/ND and continues to have fun racing with crew chief wife, Shirley and good friend crew member, Tony Maderos. Racing his all iron 399ci SBC and powerglide trans, and a car total weight of 1400lbs, with driver.
J.D.’s latest win was the 2012 March Meet, and finished # 3 in 2012, # 4 in 2013, # 6 in 2014 Heritage points, with running his JF A motor to a runner-up at the 2013 & 2014 NHRA Hot Rod Reunion in Bakersfield.
